Create your first agent
Create, test, and publish a voice or chat agent from the dashboard.
How do I create an agent?
- In the dashboard, open Agents and click New Agent.
- Give it a name and write its prompt - who it is, what business it represents, what it should do on a call, and what information it must collect.
- Pick a voice and the languages it should speak. Agents detect the caller's language from their first reply and stick to it.
- Test it right from the agent page using the built-in test call (microphone) or test chat.
What is the difference between draft and published?
Saving an agent updates its draft. Live traffic - phone calls, the website widget, triggers - always runs the last published version, so you can edit and test a draft safely without affecting live calls.
When the draft behaves the way you want, click Publish. Publishing takes a snapshot of the agent and makes it the live version. Every save is also kept in version history, so you can restore any earlier version.
Why does my agent say things like [BUSINESS NAME]?
Template prompts contain placeholders in square brackets, like [BUSINESS NAME] or [CITY/AREA]. The agent reads the prompt literally, so replace every placeholder with your real business details before publishing.
Still stuck? Email hello@workflowhq.co - a real person replies, usually within a few hours.
