Comment to DM automation

What does it do?

When someone comments on one of your Facebook Page or Instagram posts, a workflow can reply publicly under their comment, send them a private message, hide the comment, tag them as a lead, or anything else workflows can do. The commenter becomes a contact automatically, so follow-ups work like for any other contact.

Setting it up

1. Connect your Facebook Page or Instagram account under Settings, then Channels, if you have not already.
2. Open Automations and start from the Comment keyword to DM template, or add the Comment on a post trigger to a new workflow.
3. Choose which post it runs on: any post, or pick one from the dropdown of your recent posts. You can also narrow it with a keyword filter, for example only comments containing LINK.
4. Add your actions: Reply to the comment posts a public reply under it, Send a private reply messages the commenter directly, Hide the comment takes it off the post.
5. Activate the workflow and test it by commenting on your own post.

Good to know

• A commenter can get one private reply per comment, a platform rule, so make that message count.
• If your Page was connected before October 2026, reconnect it once under Settings, then Channels, so comment events start arriving.
• Keyword filters match anywhere in the comment text and ignore case.
• Blocked contacts and people on your do-not-contact list never get automated replies.
